Internal Transfers

Surplus property owned by the University will first be offered to other departments to determine university need. This does not apply to property under a contract agreement or sponsored program.

Items that are in good, reusable condition will be made available to other university departments at no cost. Exceptions may be made where surplus property may be made available to other departments at a reasonable agreed upon price. These exceptions are generally made for higher value items.

The Department with the surplus equipment is responsible for notifying the Property Office indicating a description of the item, tag number (if applicable), location of item, and contact information. The Property Office will then determine University need.

The Department with the surplus equipment is responsible for reporting all transfers to the Property Office.
