Criteria: Merit based scholarship awarded to new incoming first year undergraduate students who are Michigan Residents and were enrolled in a Detroit Public School. Students must have a 3.0 GPA, a 21 ACT and be in a college prep curriculum to receive this award.
How to apply: Students are selected in the 9th grade by their high school administrators and do not go through a scholarship application process at Michigan Tech.
Value: full-time tuition and required fees awarded from Michigan Tech gift aid programs. Students with a tuition-specific award will have their McCree Scholarship reduced by that amount. In the spirit of philanthropy some or all of a scholarship may be funded by a generous donor to the university.
Note: The Wade McCree Jr. Incentive Scholarship may not be combined with a Detroit Compact Scholarship.
