Football and forestry were both important to Matt, but so was affordability. "As an out-of-state student, Michigan Tech was very comparable to the in-state schools I was considering." Not everything was covered with financial aid, though, and Matt found a position with a forestry consulting firm that "has helped to pay bills and build my resume."
Matt only needed to make the decision whether or not to attend Michigan Tech; financial aid made all of the rest possible. He suggests that if students really want to attend Tech, financial aid will find ways for you to attend.
