9.3.6 Smoke-Free Policy

Smoking and all tobacco use is prohibited except where approval is granted by the Vice President for Administration (see Board of Trustees Policy 12.2). Michigan Tech has also adopted a "Tobacco Free, Smoke Free and Vapor Free" policy. Deleted "Smoking is prohibited in all University buildings and at all campus functions, unless accommodations have been made to provide separate ventilation for a designated smoking area. Residence halls select a policy through their own governance process. All employees, students, and visitors share in the responsibility for adhering to and enforcing this policy."
