Green Fleet

Vehicle Rentals
Types of Services
Michigan Technological University manages a fleet of safe and properly maintained vehicles. Forty-seven vehicles are available for rental by full- and part-time faculty and staff members for official University business. Students or guests may also be assigned a vehicle when it is to the advantage of the University.
Effective April 1, 2013 our rental charges have been revised to become more competitive. We now charge a flat daily rental fee. The daily rate now includes unlimited mileage and it will be the responsibility of the lessee to purchase their own fuel. Reimbursement for fuel costs should be listed on the Michigan Tech travel voucher along with other travel expenses. The monthly rate has decreased, however it will be the lessee's responsibility to purchase their own fuel.

Delivery Charge
There is a delivery charge of $15.00 (each way) of vehicles to the airport for departing/arriving Michigan Tech guests and employees. This charge will be added to the account of the rented vehicle.
Pickup/Return Schedule
Husky Motors is located in the Facilities Management Building, room 101. Business hours are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Vehicles picked up before noon will be charged the daily rate for that day. Vehicles dropped off after noon will be charged the daily rate for that day. All vehicles are to be returned with a full tank or a $4.50 per gallon fee will apply. If traveling on a Saturday or Sunday you should pick up the vehicle keys between noon and 4 p.m. on Friday. Vehicles reserved over holidays must be picked up the last business day before the holiday.
Cleaning Fees
Husky Motors will assess a $60/hour cleanup fee for those vehicles brought back with excessive grime, food stains, pet hair/dander, and trash.
Cancellations
Failure to cancel your reservation within 24 hours of scheduled pickup and “no show” will result in a $50 fee.
Other Charges
Lost remote entry transmitter or lost keys; to be determined by dealership.
