Protecting the Environment

Molly Cypher

Molly Cypher, of Grand Ledge, Michigan, majored in School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science. She believes that “the most important thing in this world is knowledge” and aspires to educate people about protecting the environment.

She chose to come to Tech in part because “I did not want to be just another number at a large university. I wanted to be recognized for not only my school work but what kind of person I was too.”

She described the School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science as “a very close-knit” program that features “hand’s-on” classes.

She singles out two experiences: a live-in fall camp at Michigan Tech’s 5,000-acre research forest; and an environmental assessment of other land around Upper Michigan. “Overall, I could not say enough great things about this school. If I could do it over again, I would.”
