Duane Bucheger received his BA in both Mathematics and Physics from Northland College in 1977, his M.S.E.M. in 1981 and his Ph.D. in Sensing and Signal Processing in 1993 from Michigan Technological University. He has teaching experience at University of Minnesota Mankato in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and has 20 years of industrial experience. He founded Optimized Technical Solutions Inc. an engineering consulting company that hires newly graduated top engineering talent and uses this talent to supply consulting services to industry. His consulting topics span the fields of manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, and metallurgical engineering. As of August 2010, Duane was appointed Professor of Practice in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan Tech and heads the Senior Design program for ECE.
