Percy Julian Graduation Reception

Recognition Ceremony Thursday , April 16, 2015

Honors outstanding Hispanic, African American, Native American, and LGBTQ  students graduating from Michigan Tech. The recipient of the Percy Julian Award is also announced during the reception.

Every January since 1989, the campus community honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through special events about MLK’s work and the civil rights era.

Highlights the history and traditions of Native American cultures. Events change each year and have previously included films and an intro to Ojibwe language.

Parade of Nations

Michigan Tech, Finlandia University, and the local community join together for a parade through downtown Houghton and Hancock, and a multicultural festival with entertainment and international cuisine.

Pride Week

Weeklong Annual Event
Date: Monday, September 22–Sunday, September 28, 2014

Celebrate the identity and culture of the GLBTQ community. Past events include guest speakers and Q&A sessions. The week culminates with the annual Drag Show—drawing more than 1,000 attendees each year.
