What is it and where can I use it?

When you add Top Dog Express to your Tech Express ID Card or Department Dining Card, you are purchasing a set number of entries into one of the three Dining Halls - DHH, McNair, or Wadsworth with all-you-can-eat, buffet-style dining.

How much does it cost?

10 meals - $90

25 meals - $218

50 meals - $410

75 meals - $570

Does it expire?

No, Top Dog Express does not ever expire.  It carries over from semester to semester and year to year.

Can I get a refund?

Since the meals never expire, we do not issue refunds on this plan unless you are permanently leaving the University.  For specific refund questions, please stop by the IT Service Center on the 1st floor of the JR Van Pelt and Opie Library.

How do I buy it?

To pay with a credit card, go online to www.techexpress.mtu.edu.  Cardholders should click on "Cardholders' Online System" and parents or others with the cardholder's M-number should click on "Guests' Online System".  To pay with cash or check, go to the IT Service Center on the 1st floor of the JR Van Pelt and Opie Library.  Departments can email it-help@mtu.edu with their Dining Card number (or a request for a new card), University index number to charge, and the number of meals.

What is it and where can I use it?

The Express Cash debit card program is available as a feature of your ID card. It operates like a no-interest checking account. By opening an account, you can use your ID at campus locations.

How do I buy it?

 Deposits to the card can be made online or in person at the Tech Express office. Students can also check their balance on the Tech Express Website www.techexpress.mtu.edu

How much does it cost?

There are no transaction fees for adding value to the Express Cash account or spending Express Cash at participating merchants.  There is a $3 fee per transaction for cash withdrawals from your Express Cash balance (withdrawals can be made at the Tech Express Office). The $3 is taken from your total withdrawal.  Upon permanently leaving (disenrolling from) the University, you can request a check for the remaining funds in your Express Cash Account. There is a $10 fee charged to issue a refund check, which will be subtracted from the refunded amount.

Cash can be withdrawn through the Tech Express Office during normal business hours. There is a minimum withdrawal of $20 and maximum of $200 with a monthly maximum of $500

What is it and where can I use it?

Individual Meal Passes are paper passes that can be purchased for individuals who do not have a Tech Express ID Card.  These passes can be used to eat in DHH, McNair, or Wadsworth Dining Halls in an all-you-can-eat, buffet-style setting.

How much does it cost?

Each pass costs $12.95.

Does it expire?

No, they do not expire.  However, the passes are paper and are intended to be used in a short period of time.  For a long term meal plan please see Dining Cards.

Can I get a refund?

Individual Meal Passes are non-refundable.

How do I buy it?

You can purchase Individual Meal Passes with cash or check from the reception desks in DHH, McNair, or Wadsworth Hall.  If you would like to charge it to a University account number, you can go to the Dining Services Office in room 101 of the Memorial Union.
