Cracked Not Broken, the Kevin Hines Story

Kevin Hines is of the 10% that has tried to commit suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge... and lived to tell his story. All are welcome to come and listen to Kevin Hines speak and learn more about his story and his mental health journey.  Kevin is passionate about teaching others to help those in need; sometimes all it takes is to ask someone, are you ok?"  Learn how to be that ally and do your part to end the Mental Health stigma.  All are welcome to attend this free event!

Student Day at the Downtown Houghton Farmers Market

3:00-6:00 pm. On the waterfront by the Portage Lake District Library

It's Student Day at the Downtown Houghton Farmers Market!  Michigan Tech Employees Federal Credit Union has donated $500 in student vouchers that can be used at the market to purchase goods (the first 100 students will receive a $5 voucher).  Go on a short walk to the Downtown Houghton Farmers Market to support your community and your health by taking advantage of all the market has to offer!  Student Organizations will also be showcasing their talents and services at the market; what a great way to get involved!  As if that's not enough fun for one day, tote bags, recipes, and education will be available as well!  See you there!

Outdoor yoga with Huskies Fit 7:00 pm, Walker Law

Join Instructor Beth Ryynanen out on Walker Lawn for an amazing Yoga experience!  Beth has over 25 years of experience Teaching Yoga at all levels, and is sure to make you feel comfortable and have an awesome session!  Please bring your own mat if you have one!  All are welcome to attend this free event!

Find your Fit Online Wellness Challenge

Challenge Begins: Sunday, September 10

Challenge Ends: Saturday, October 7

Find You Fit is an online, student-focused, challenge that highlights wellness areas of movement, sleep, and hydration.  The challenge is 4 weeks long, with the idea that making a habit takes some time.  Each week (or day if you wish), points need to be logged online in order to be counted throughout the challenge and be eligible for incentives throughout the course of the 4 weeks.  NOTE: Points must be logged by 5:00 pm on the Tuesday for the previous week.  As with most challenges, targets become more difficult to reach as the weeks progress.  

Participant Eligibility:

Participants must be an active Michigan Tech student, with an M# and Michigan Tech email.
