The Residence Halls
Starting fall 2007, all residence halls will be smoke free. There are three residence halls at Michigan Tech, each having their own unique qualities and feel to them. All information on the different halls can be found at the housing website.

bullet
Douglass Houghton Hall—Also known as DHH, this is the smallest residence hall. As with a smaller hall, it has a calmer atmosphere. DHH has many study areas and places to meet with people. The rooms all have loftable furniture with built-in closets.
bullet
McNair Hall—This is a medium sized hall that is physically split into an East and West section. It is located across US-41 from the Rozsa Center. McNair does not have the loftable furniture, so students are still able to build lofts in their rooms to maximize their space.
bullet
Wadsworth Hall—Usually just referred to as Wads, this is the largest of the residence halls. It is split into East, West, and North wads. North Wads is the suites, where each room consists of a private bathroom, shower and sink. Wads uses the loftable furniture like DHH, but also includes armoires, since there are no built-in closets. Wads is known to be a louder hall, since there are so many people from all walks of life, but also contains the Campus Café and numerous lounges to work or study in.

If there are ever any topics that you feel should be addressed, please send me a personal email and I will try my best to include that in my future articles.

Until next week,
