Onder Looks for Fetching Solutions
Soner Onder, assistant professor of computer science, wants to help computer manufacturers continue to increase microprocessor performance. He has identified a roadblock to future performance demands and has earned a prestigious award to help him develop the solutions.
Onder received a National Science Foundation Career award, given to young faculty to boost their teaching and research activities. He is one of more than 20 Michigan Tech faculty members to receive the honor in recent years.
The computer scientist looks at the number of instructions that a processor can fetch during each cycle. His research will determine how to overcome roadblocks that impede this fetch process.
Onder involves graduate students in his projects, encouraging them to develop innovative solutions.
With faculty like Soner Onder, the future of computing is in good hands. He, and the other computing faculty (including computer science and computer engineering) are dedicated to helping you create your future at Michigan Tech.
