Parent Questions and Concerns 

Parents, guardians, and family members oftentimes have questions about their student's Michigan Tech experience or concerns about their student that may be helpful to share with us. The COMPASS staff is dedicated to assisting parents and family members and encourages you to communicate with us at any time to discuss questions and concerns that arise. Online Resources

There are many online resources that provide information on topics of interest for parents of college students, including financial aid, college transition, and career planning information. Listed below are just a few of these resources available to you and your student that may assist in you throughout Michigan Tech experience.

Charter Bus Transportation

ParentNet

Parents and family members are an important part of the Michigan Tech community. Michigan Tech provides on online tool that helps parents and family members stay connected to one another, and to news and events on campus. This parent-to-parent network, ParentNet, allows you to communicate with other Michigan Tech parents, ask questions, and share important information and advice about the college parenting experience. 

ParentNet, a social network designed just for Tech parents, guardians, and family members allows post questions, form and join groups to network with other parents who have similar interests, read weekly updates from our student ParentNet writer and Study Abroad writer, and access monthly Parent and Family newsletters from COMPASS. Parent and Family Newsletter

COMPASS provides an online parent and family newsletter that addresses timely issues your student may be facing, information about campus happenings and events, and helpful parent resource information. This monthly newsletter is posted to the ParentNet community. Join ParentNet today to access this valuable parent and family resource. 

Parent Perspective: Student Health 101

Michigan Tech has partnered with Student Health 101 to give students, parents, and family members up-to-date information on many common college health and wellness issues.  Because family is an essential support system for students, we hope that you are having conversations with your Michigan Tech student about their health and wellness-related decision making. The parent edition of the Student Health 101 Newsletter, The Parent Perspective, is a resource that can help you become an informed partner and share essential information with your student.
