In accordance with its Parent and Guardian Philosophy, Michigan Tech strives to partner with the parents and family members of students. COMPASS, the Center for Orientation, Mentoring, Parents, and Academic Student Success, is here to assist your student and you. If you have a question, concern, or problem and don’t know who to contact, start with our office. The COMPASS staff works closely with many offices on campus and can point you in the right direction, help to clarify policies and procedures, answer general questions, outreach to your student, and refer you as needed.
COMPASS also coordinates several campus events and initiatives geared toward parents and family members. We plan Parent and Family Orientation and Family Weekend, as well as provide additional communications and information through our email address, website, monthly e-newsletters, ParentNet posts, and this Parent and Family Handbook.
