Transfer Student Support

We're glad you made the decision to transfer to Michigan Tech! Whether you have transferred to Tech from a community college or another four-year college or university, we know you bring with you great experience as a college student. COMPASS is here to provide you with the specific information you need to be successful at this University. Michigan Tech is a special place and we know you will figure this out after spending some time here, but transferring to a new university can be somewhat overwhelming. That's why we provide Transfer Student Assistants, peer leaders who can assist you with your transition to Tech.

Our Transfer Student Assistants are here to plan events for transfer students to network and get to know one another and answer any questions you may have. Stop by COMPASS during their office hours to ask questions or discuss your transfer experience. 

COMPASS also sponsors the transfer-l@mtu.edu email list for transfer students. If you've transferred to Michigan Tech and are not already a member, join today using Michigan Tech's email list service, Sympa. Login with your Michigan Tech username and ISO password, search for “transfer,” and click “Subscribe” in the menu to the left. We send important reminders and updates via this list and it is a useful tool for transfer students to ask questions, get advice, and network with one another.
