Thank you for considering the Master of Science in Applied Science Education. This degree program meets the needs of practicing middle and high school teachers who wish to develop their ability to teach science and mathematics using practical applications and student-centered instruction; incorporate engineering concepts into their teaching; and implement and study changes to their teaching practice in a disciplined way. Students meet the program course requirements through a combination of online education courses during the academic year and on-campus summer courses focused on the application of science and mathematics. The program culminates with an action research project that teachers conduct in their own classrooms to implement and study instructional changes that incorporate ideas from the program coursework.

If you are seeking to enhance your science or mathematics teaching by developing knowledge of content, applications of content, engineering, and research practices, this program is for you. Please feel free to contact me at any time to discuss Michigan Tech’s MSASE program.
