Biography

Prior to earning her Ph.D. in 2006, Dr. Stockero was a high school mathematics and science teacher in the Upper Peninsula. Her primary research interest is understanding how to support teacher learning at both the pre-service and inservice levels. Her current work, funded by a 2011 National Science Foundation CAREER award, focuses on helping mathematics teachers learn to notice important events that occur during instruction and use them to better support students' learning of mathematics. Dr. Stockero is also a co-PI for MTU's Noyce Scholarship Program, which supports MTU students and returning professionals to earn certification to teach in the STEM disciplines.
