Little Huskies Scholarships Available! Application Deadline August 1, 2013

See Scholarship Application Link at left—The purpose of the scholarship fund is to remove financial roadblocks so as to allow Michigan Tech's most needy families access to high-quality early childhood education at Michigan Tech's Little Huskies Child Development Center. The focus demographics are undergraduate, graduate, and low-income employee families. Their success at Michigan Tech is a guiding principle.

A range of scholarship awards may be available based on the need demonstrated in any given applicant pool and the individual needs of families. Award amounts may vary from partial subsidies to full-tuition scholarships. Scholarship award criteria and procedures are subject to change based on the discretion of the University, committee, and donor(s) and they reserve the right to award and withdraw scholarships as needed. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to Little Huskies Child Development Center.

The scholarship awards are available for up to a full-year, twelve-month period. However, nine-month schedules will be considered if it is best for the families. The absence priority policy currently in place at Little Huskies will be used if families dis-enroll.

Once awarded, tuition scholarships are intended to continue with the eligible family until the child is no longer attending Little Huskies, financial need can no longer be documented, or the child's enrollment drops below full-time. Families receiving a scholarship will be required to verify continuing financial need and university enrollment if applicable on an annual basis, and the continuing award commitment will be verified after review by the committee. Annual continuation will depend upon funding availability, and any other discretionary changes made by the University, committee, or donor(s). After the initial awards, future awards to new families will be made on a rolling basis at the point in time when scholarships become available.

A completed application and all required materials must be received no later than August 1, 2013 for the 2013-2014 academic year. Materials may be sent electronically to or mailed to:
