Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Michigan Tech

The Department of Chemistry at Michigan Technological University solicits candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning fall semester, 2013. We seek applicants with research and teaching interests primarily in organic chemistry and related areas such as chemical biology, macromolecular chemistry/nanotechnology.

Candidates are expected to establish an externally funded, nationally recognized research program and to be committed to excellence in both undergraduate and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) education.

A Ph.D. degree in a chemical science with an emphasis on organic chemistry is required; postdoctoral experience is preferred. Please submit a brief cover letter describing both general research interests (and how they fit with existing Michigan Tech programs) and teaching interests (and experience). In addition, the following materials must be included with the cover letter:

  1. Curriculum vitae,
  2. Description of future research plans,
  3. Estimate of lab start-up costs with a general list of equipment needed,
  4. List of major research instrumentation essential to accomplishing your research goals, and
  5. Contact information for three references (enter into online form when prompted).
