Benefit Rozsa Center and University Library
Several years ago, Eileen Niva included a provision in her estate plans to benefit the University library, where she previously worked, and the Rozsa Center for Performing Arts.
Her wise estate planning has allowed an empty space at the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts to come alive. The Rozsa Center has a new art gallery as a result of the gift funds of more than $53,000 received from her estate for this project. "It's been in the plans for years," says Mike Morelli, director of the Rozsa Center, "and we are very excited to have a new gallery." The remainder of the $95,000 received from Mrs. Niva’s estate will support the J. R. Van Pelt and Opie Library.
Mrs. Niva attended Michigan Tech as a freshman in 1935. While working at Tech’s library, she continued her college education, completing a BA in Liberal Arts in 1971. She retired from the University in 1976 and passed away in November 2007.
