General Motors donated a new Chevy Volt electric drive vehicle to the Michigan Tech's Advanced Power Systems Research Center on Saturday, August 6. Terry Woychowski ('78 ME), Vice President, Global Vehicle Program Management, presented the keys to the Volt on behalf of GM. The donation bolsters Michigan Tech's certificate program in hybrid electric and electric vehicle engineering by giving students experience on a vehicle that represents the latest advances in automotive technology. Receiving the vehicle was President Glenn Mroz and Associate Professor Jeff Naber (ME-EM). Naber is the director of the center, which focuses on clean, efficient and sustainable power systems.
