- All of our undergraduate business degrees (accounting, finance, management, management information systems, marketing, and operations and systems management), our Tech MBA, and our Tech MBA Online are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Our AACSB accreditation was reaffirmed in spring of 2011.
- The Tech MBA is ranked as one of the Top 100 MBA Programs Worldwide by the Aspen Institute for significant leadership in integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into our program.
- Students in our Applied Portfolio Management Program won the 2007 and 2008 annual RISE national stock investment competition in the value category.
- The School of Business and Economics is the only school to offer the Business Development Experience for degrees in accounting, finance, management, operations and systems management, management information systems, and marketing.
- The Tech MBA Online was recognized by US News and World Reports in three categories as an honor roll program in the 2012 ranking.
- Our students donate their time to help students and low-income community members file their income taxes each spring through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
- Entrepreneurial students from Michigan Tech compete for $30,000 in the New Venture Competition a joint business plan competition between Michigan Tech and Central Michigan University.
- The School of Business and Economics is an active part of Michigan Tech's Institute for Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
- Three School of Business and Economics students are working with the Smartzone Business Accelerator to further develop and market a mattress designed to increase the efficiency of CPR on hospital patients.
- In the Silicon Valley Experience, Michigan Tech students travel to the innovation hub of the US to tour, visit, and engage with companies like Google, Facebook, Intel, Brocade, and more.
- In the last five years, two of our faculty have won the University’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
