Merging Technology and Business

As Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Michigan Tech, I welcome you to our website.  We are extremely pleased you have taken the time to learn more about our unique experiential learning-based academic programs and the potential they hold in shaping the global business leaders of tomorrow.

We encourage you to explore the website to gain insight into our undergraduate program offerings in accounting, economics, finance, management, management information systems, marketing, and engineering management. Of particular note to explore is the undergraduate business development experience. Here, students engage in hands-on business learning opportunities ranging from managing an actual investment portfolio of $ 1.5 million to preparing a business plan for a new product or technology being developed on campus.

Are you interested in graduate school?  Our Tech MBA, Master in Accounting and our Master in Applied Natural Resource Economics can be taken as part of the Peace Corps program.

Delivering these undergraduate and graduate programs is an outstanding faculty characterized by a powerful combination of formal academic training coupled with business experience.  This resource clearly supports the School’s Mission, which is to “…integrate the University’s technological prominence with experience-based learning to develop leaders in global business and innovation and to advance knowledge through research.”

Our ability to carryout this mission is validated by the success of our graduates, as well as by meeting the high standards of the world’s premier business school accrediting organization, AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Learn more about our AACSB Accreditation.

What is harder to capture in this website is the effort put forth by faculty and staff to provide students enrolled in the School of Business and Economics with a sense of confidence and excitement about their professional future.  Thus, I hope you will go beyond your visit to our website and take the opportunity to visit our campus and experience for yourself the positive attitude that is Michigan Tech.

Best regards,

R. Eugene Klippel
