We encourage you to take advantage of our Cooperative Education Program, which offers you work in your field of study while you earn both academic credit and a salary. Typically co-ops are in government, business, or industry and last one or two semesters. When you graduate, you will have a resume that demonstrates an ability to apply knowledge-not just a list of courses taken.
Paid internships, usually in the summer, are also available, but the work is not necessarily in your academic discipline and doesn't involve academic credit.
Many employers select students with experience in co-ops and internships as full-time employees.
