The Budget and Planning Office of Michigan Technological University works collaboratively with the President's Council and its constituents. The office supports Michigan Tech’s strategic plan with respect to its effective use of financial resources. The major responsibilities of the Budget and Planning Office include:

  • coordinating the development of the annual operating budget that supports the goals identified in the strategic plan.
  • meeting regularly with University administrators to analyze financial data and compare budget-to-actual results.
  • supporting fiscal decision making by providing accurate and timely reports, analysis, and other data.
  • assisting and training budget unit managers in the use of financial management systems and related reports.
