10.1 Committee on Awards
A Committee on Awards shall be appointed by the President to recommend candidates for honorary degrees, Board of Trustees Silver Medal, and the Melvin Calvin Medal of Distinction.
Recommendations from the committee are submitted to the President for approval by the Board of Trustees.

An award will be given in recognition of personal accomplishment to be known as the Board of Trustees Silver Medal.

10.3 Melvin Calvin Medal of Distinction
The University's highest award will be given in recognition of the notable distinguished achievement in a given field by an individual associated with Michigan Technological University.
