Biography

Kip S. Russ entered the Army in 24 October 1988. He completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

SFC Russ' assignments include Meteorological Crewman, HHB DIVARTY, 24thInfantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA; team chief, 4-11th FA Regiment, Fort Wainwright, AK; Maintenance Supervisor, 1-30th FA, Fort Sill; section chief, HHB DIVARTY, Camp Stanley, Korea; section chief and station leader, HHB DIVARTY, Fort Stewart, GA; operations sergeant, 2-307th Fort Jackson, SC; Station Leader, Intel Sergeant and First Sergeant, 1-6th FA, Fort Knox, KY.

His deployments include Operation Enduring Freedom 10-11 and Operation Iraqi Freedom 02-03 and 05-06. SFC Russ is a graduate of almost every NCOES school from Warrior Leader Course to the Senior Leader Course. He is also a graduate of the Combat Life Saver course.

SFC Russ' awards and decorations include: Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with five OLC), Army Achievement Medal (with two OLC), Presidential Unit Citation (with one OL), Meritorious Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, South West Asia Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Combat Action Badge.
