Military Arts and Science—Minor

The minor in Military Arts and Science, offered by the Department of Army ROTC, focuses on well-rounded leadership and advanced military tactics, and provides students with the opportunity to study one of our country's major instruments of national power—the US military.

The minor emphasizes leadership as it is practiced in military institutions. Develop an understanding of international conflict; the formation of national foreign policy; the use of aircraft, spacecraft, and information to create political and military effects; and the development and organization of the US military forces.

Enrollment in the ROTC program is not a prerequisite for this minor. Minors allow students to specialize in a discipline outside their major. To pursue a minor, you must first be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and file a Curriculum Add/Drop Form with the Registrar's Office to declare the minor. We recommend that you begin your minor studies as early as possible in your academic career.
