A special invitation to the Women of Michigan Tech,
On behalf of the Presidential Council of Alumnae*, it is with great pleasure and anticipation that we invite you to a Celebration of the Women of Michigan Tech during the annual Alumni Reunion August 2-4, 2012 on campus.
This is an event where all the women of Michigan Tech are invited to come together to connect and reconnect. Tech now has over 10,000 living women alumni graduates as well as more than 4,000 who attended from as far back as the early 1940’s.
Women have been students at Michigan Tech since as early as 1889, just four years after the University was founded. Today, 26% of Michigan Tech’s students are women studying to “create the future.”
You can get involved starting today by…
- Planning to attend! The dates are August 2-4, 2012 with the main event Saturday evening. Connect with your alumnae friends and encourage them to meet you there. Register at huskylink.mtu.edu/reunion2012
- Get involved virtually! Check out the “Memories” website at http://www.mtu.edu/techwomen and add your own stories and photos. This will be maintained as part of the University archives and will be used at the event in August.
- Reconnect with your classmates! Visit HuskyLink, Michigan Tech’s exclusive online community and search the alumni directory for those folks.
- Join the Women of Tech Facebook Group! Join the "Women of Michigan Tech" group on Facebook to chat with classmates about Reunion and post pictures from your time at Tech.
If you haven’t been back to Michigan Tech in a while, this is a great time to reconnect. Consider the possibility that this event provides the forum for more women to be on campus than men for the first time in our 127 year history!
We look forward to meeting you next August!
