1) Join HuskyLink

The mentoring program uses Huskylink, Michigan Tech’s Online Alumni Community, to host your mentor profile that can be searched by students.  If you’re not yet a member, please visit http://huskylink.mtu.edu/join.  If you are a member and have forgotten your userid or password, please visit http://huskylink.mtu.edu/login and click on the forgot userid or password link.

2) Become a Mentor

Now that you’re a HuskyLink member, visit http://huskylink.mtu.edu/mentor-sign-up and login using your userid and password.  Please fill out the required mentor form which includes information such as contact, employer data, and specific mentor questions.  This information will enable students to search for their ideal mentor.

Once you’ve completed your profile and read the terms and conditions, click Next.

3) Review your Mentor Profile and Select Contact/Employer Information

to Display

Now it’s time to review your information.  To protect your privacy, your contact information (address, phone number, etc) and employer information (Employer Name, Job Description, etc) are not automatically visible in the default Mentor Profile.  Please follow the tutorial below to add your Mentoring Information to your Mentor Profile.

In addition to your basic mentor information, you can connect your Linkedin Profile to the Mentor Profile page.

Linkedin is a career networking site with over 40 million users that connects professionals to exchange information and ideas to help your career.  Please visit http://linkedin.com to sign-up.

Note: be sure to become a member of the Linkedin Michigan Tech Alumni Association group, http://alumni.mtu.edu/linkedin.
