Major Jason Engler was commissioned via the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Embry Riddle in Prescott, AZ in 1997. His first operational assignment was to Malmstrom Air Force Base, MT as an ICBM launch control officer. Following that tour, Major Engler entered the space operations career field, where he served in various assignments to include leading a mission control team launching a military surveillance satellite, missile warning center crew duty at North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), testing and evaluation of space capabilities, teaching the Air Force basic space course, and crew commander and staff at the Department of Defense Joint Space Operations Center. Before coming to MTU, Major Engler taught master’s level courses in military planning at the Air Force Air Command and Staff College in Montgomery, AL. Major Engler has earned three meritorious service medals, three commendation medals and is a distinguished graduate of the Air University Basic Instructor Course.
