How to Join AFROTC

Entrance requirements for the AFROTC are fairly simple. To be considered for the program, you must be an enrolled student at Michigan Tech and a US citizen. Prior to beginning an AFROTC course of study, you will need to meet a few general admissions requirements. Advancement in the program involves testing and additional qualifications. Joining AFROTC

Program Retention

  • Physical Fitness Test
    • Push-ups
    • Sit-ups
    • 1.5-mile run
  • Meet AF height/weight standards
  • Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT)
    • Standardized test similar to the SAT and the ACT
    • Measures aptitudes
  • Pass Department of Defense military entrance physical
  • GPA: 3.00 needed to be competitive
    • Minimum GPA of 2.5 required for cadets on scholarship, 2.0 for ROTC program
