Grants

Grants are gift aid based on need and are available to US citizens and permanent residents. Accepted students are automatically considered for grant programs if their FAFSA results are released to Michigan Tech. Students must apply for grant renewal each year by re-filing the FAFSA.

Federal Pell Grant

Criteria: the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) determines the value of the award; undergraduates only

Value: variable up to $5,645; value prorated based on enrollment status

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

Criteria: exceptional financial need; priority is given to Federal Pell Grant recipients; undergraduates only

Value: variable

University Student Award

Criteria: financial need and academic potential or performance; enrolled full-time

Value: variable

Other: renewal requires a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher
