Robert W, Hiltunen has served as the Director of Auxiliary Services since 2011, after having held several administrative and operations positions at the University. As the Director of Auxiliary Services, Hiltunen oversees Campus Merchandising, Portage Lake Golf Course, Mont Ripley Ski Hill, Dining Services, the University Ticketing Services Office, The Memorial Union, and the Rozsa Center's Rental Operations. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Michigan Tech, and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University.

Prior to Michigan Tech, Hiltunen worked for HDS Services in several Director roles in South-east Michigan and South-east Illinois. Hiltunen is a Lean practitioner and a campus Lean facilitator. He serves as lead negotiator for the University with the AFSCME labor organization and is a board member of the UP Labor Management Council.  Hiltunen holds the Certified Auxiliary Services Professional Certification from the National Association of College Services. Hiltunen is past president of the Copper Country Association of School Boards and past president of the Dollar Bay Tamarack City Board of Education.
