Earn a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in Five Years

Are you interested in entering one of the fastest growing career fields? Are you ready to learn advanced technical and analytical skills and apply those skills to real-world challenges? The Accelerated Data Science program provides the perfect career progression opportunity for dedicated self-starters with strong technical and analytical skills. It allows Michigan Tech undergraduate students to apply up to 6 approved course credits toward the graduate degree so with one additional year you can earn a master's degree.

Whether you want to pursue doctoral studies or gain a competitive edge, an accelerated master's can help you achieve your goals. This program will give you broad-based education in data mining, predictive analytics, cloud computing, data-science fundamentals, communication, and business acumen. Additionally, you will gain a competitive edge through domain-specific specialization in disciplines of science and engineering. You will have the freedom to explore and develop your own interests in one or more domains. (See participating departments for established domains.)

This is a course-work only degree option requiring 30 credits of approved courses and allows you to double count up to 6 approved credits toward both a Master of Science in Data Science and your Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Systems Science, or Software Engineering or other computer-related major.
